Waste Management Solutions for Municipalities

The GEM 3T120 offers the perfect solution for municipalities and other government entities to streamline operations, dispose of waste efficiently, manage energy and waste management costs, and convert waste to energy while generating surplus funds for the local budget. In today’s economy, towns, cities, and counties are under tremendous pressure to reduce costs while maintaining services to their constituents.

Waste management and energy costs eat up a good deal of local government budgets, with the only certainty being that such costs will continue to rise, in the long term.  In addition, these civil institutions are under increasing pressure to address the environmental damage incurred by normal waste disposal and energy usage practices.

The GEM addresses these problems by:

  • Eliminating the need to haul and dispose of up to 1,000 tons of waste per year (for each GEM)

  • Providing local facilities with heat and electricity produced directly from local waste

  • Generating full payback of cost and expenses within 4-5 years

  • Continuing to generate surplus funds beyond the pay-back period for at least an additional 15 years (with proper maintenance)

  • Ensuring ongoing remote monitoring of your machine by IST Engineers and a full-level support and maintenance service for the life of the machine

  • Siting our units in a customized and efficient manner that optimizes its benefits to your municipality or county

  • Offering financing services for the GEM that result in positive cash flow within 1-2 years of purchase.

The GEM is designed to integrate readily with existing waste management programs. If sited at a transfer station, it can replace dumpsters and dramatically reduce the need for all activities and costs related to hauling and disposal of waste.

If the transfer station does not need the energy generated, we can implement a decentralized installation where the Solid Waste Processor (SWP), which comprises all equipment from automatic feed hopper to the pellet hopper, is sited at the transfer station while the gasifier and generator or burner/boiler are sited elsewhere to provide energy to a school, municipal building or other facility.
